Systems Administration/System Engineer certification in Linux+, e.g., CompTIA Linux+, Red Hat Certified System Administrator (RHCSA), or Red Hat Certified Engineer (RHCE)
Experience installing, configuring, maintaining and troubleshooting current and legacy Linux servers and desktops (RPM-based)
Expert knowledge of the Linux Kernel and hands-on experience with various Linux distribution: Red Hat 6,7, Oracle Linux 5-7, AWS Linux 2016-2018 and the file system architectures and machine architectures of each Linux distribution
knowledge of Enterprise Storage Technology, iSCSI & Fiber Channel Switching, NAS and NFS/CIFS, and Data Replication technologies.
knowledge of LVM, SAN, NAS, RAID, EXT3 & 4 Experience with the following technologies: HP servers, VMWare, AWS, Ansible, Splunk, Centrify, IPAM.
Understanding of advanced networking concepts and protocols (IP addressing/subnet masks, DHCP, DNS, NTP, etc.) and network diagnostic tools (protocol analysis with tcpdump/Wireshark)
Basic familiarity with switching versus routing and VLANs, network load balancing

Understanding of database and web application concept and architecture: Oracle, Postgres, WebLogic, Tomcat
Understanding of system and storage design appropriate to support Oracle, Postgres databases and WebLogic and Tomcat application server
Strong understanding of Linux security principles, defense in-depth, firewalls, IPS/IDS, identity management, authentication and encryption
Experience in log management processes using Syslog, Splunk and SolarWinds , a Plus
Must have experience in an operational Linux administration role supporting mission-critical platforms, including physical and virtualized environments
Strong hands-on experience with systems automation and infrastructure as code techniques in order to increase systems administration efficiency and support using Ansible
Must be a self-starter and be able to work independently, but also within a team
Strong verbal and written communication skills is required
Knowledge of industry standards and frame work (ITIL, ISO, COBIT) a plus
Must be willing to work off-hours/weekends to support operational needs

Designing, implementing and supporting Linux computing systems hardware and software infrastructure using the following service models: on-premise, managed hosted, SaaS cloud
Providing system architecture, implementation, system administration, troubleshooting and operational supporting for an OLTP webapp environments
Assisting in developing, implementing and enforcing systems security policies and procedures
Collaborating with Security Team to implement and regularly test systems security controls
Providing third level escalation for operation problems and incidents
Resolving issues within prescribed SLA’s and adhering to incident management procedures
Performing Linux virtualization implementations, supporting and upgrades
Working with application development teams, internal clients and external clients on creating systems requirements, projection and growth
